This exquisite 19th-century Chinese Canton Famille Rose vase is a fine example of Qing dynasty porcelain artistry, showcasing exceptional hand-enameled decoration and vibrant color. Crafted with great care, the vase features two distinct and beautifully balanced scenes that highlight the skill of Cantonese workshops of the period.
One side is adorned with a traditional Chinese scene, delicately rendered with finely detailed figures, architecture, and landscape elements, all brought to life through the soft yet rich palette characteristic of Famille Rose enamels. The reverse presents a striking contrast: a lively display of brightly colored butterflies in mid-flight, symbolizing joy, transformation, and harmony. The enamels are vivid and well preserved, demonstrating the high quality of workmanship.
Enhancing the overall design, the neck of the vase is encircled by two finely painted gilt “baby” dragons, their sinuous forms curling gracefully around the rim. The gold accents add a touch of elegance and imperial symbolism, beautifully complementing the colorful body decoration.
Height : 26cm
Condition : Overall condition is very good, Small bit of restoration to the mouth of the vase and some minor were to the enamels.
